“In order to uncoil, you must first recoil.”
Different from most exercise and training strategies, dance, especially Ballet, places a gigantic emphasis on what are called “preparatory-movements”. For example in Ballet to accomplish a spin or pirouette to the right, the preparatory movement is to first to turn to the left, in an effort to recoil the potential energy needed for the spin. With this knowledge, it then becomes easy to understand that the magnitude and direction of the spin, “its effectiveness”, is determined by the amount and direction of the recoiled energy created by that preparatory movement.
All this is all crucial for proper movement because the pattern we establish in the preparatory movement designates and defines the direction and intensity of the movement itself. The specific term referring to this process is a measure of one’s ability to create “potential energy”. Here lies the secret of performance.
Another, perhaps, more mainstream example of this process leads us to conclude, “No wind-up.., No pitch.” So the “delivery force” of a baseball pitch or even a swing is based in and is proportional to one’s ability to wind-up effectively.
What separates those super athletes and performers is their ability to recoil power effectively and efficiently.
In the future we will present many blogs about this subject because it is one of the founding principles of “Skeletal Optimization” and by addressing the needs of elite athlete, as well as those who are physically challenged, are all approached with the same methodology. We therefore treat the foundation of the movement as opposed to the consequences of movement.
The pattern is established in the foundation… The traditionally established model of, “Function dictates form,” may, in fact, be flawed. It may, in fact, be that , “Form dictates Function.”

Do you have an electric dryer, stove, hairdryer, electric water heater, space heater?
Imagine using these products near water and not having them properly grounded? “Ouch!” Not fun, You could get quite a jolt, if you are lucky. The ground or “ground connection” is the safety net.
The human body, too, needs a soild ground connection. When it is faulty, the forces, mechanical forces, become undermined. Have you walked on a beach where the sand has a unique quality such that it holds your weight for a second or two and then it “caves in” just as you attempt to walk… Doesn’t that become fairly fustrating very quickly…?
Well unless you have a “solid ground connection” you have a “faulty ground connection” which, just as in the case of an electric appliance, has the potential for disaster… For most people however this faulty ground connection goes un-noticed and we tend to just overlook it.
Well, what is interesting is, that your ground connection is the most crucial element with respect to how gravity passes through your body and more specifically your skeleton. To make this more dramatic… Imagine, “only imagine” putting cooking oil on the floor in a weight room… Not a pretty picture… especially if a person is squatting a heavy load… This is a dramatic example of an “ineffective” ground connection.
In the future we will post lots more about “solid vs futile” ground connections. The important thing to note is, that the mechanical forces which, “Make and Shape Your Body” are a directly proportionate to your ”Ground Connection”… Undermine the ground connection and you will undermine the process which gives you your strength, power, mobility and muscular coordination.
Oh one last thought… Not stating specifically as a recomendation… but imagine an intruder is entering your home/apartment with malicious intent. However, on the inside of your door you squirted dish soap on the floor covering a 3 foot radius… Well get the popcorn and watch the slap-stick show that will take place as you call for the police… Good thing Bin Laden didn’t know about that one…

Your body, your posture, your skeletal orientation is nothing more than a pattern of forces. Mechanical forces that are bearing down and traveling through your body 24/7 , 365, year after year until your life ends.
If the pattern of these forces is off, your body is off… There is nothing, “ABSOLUTELY NOTHING”, you can do about it. No pilates, no Gyrotonics, no therapy, no training, no exercise and no Yoga, no surgery, no medicine and no doctor can help you.
There is only one way you win this relentless, endless and perpetual battle. The only way to overcome this “epidemic of life” is to utilize the principles of “Skeletal Optimization”. Why, How, How Come, How can it be, that ”Skeletal Optimization” is so vastly different, you ask? The difference is; we, “Skeletal Ops” trainers don’t adjust you, manipulate you or train you. On the contrary we train the forces to travel through your body in a completely different orientation. We, “Make the Force be with You”, this is the defining characteristic.
We send forces through your bodies in directions which completely alter your entire “skeletal geometry”. Once this is done, once you learn to, “Take Command of Gravity” you will control the the forces of the universe, the forces of gravity. You will stop “premature” aging in its tracks, you will reverse the damage that has been done by faulty patterns, you will rebuild, regenerate and renew your body at will. Your life, your health, your spirit and your soul will be altered forever. You will truly”Be Empowered..”
In the Tao it says, “When you are one with the Tao the rhino has no place to peirce.” You will become untouchable and impenetrable. You will become vastly stronger you have more to give, you will give more and and you will fear nothing…
The key to “Skeletal Optimization” is to use the “imposing forces” against themselves. It is the body’s ultimate self-defense, the body’s ultimate self-presevation. It is the body’s ultimate process of regeneration, of “Self Healing”. It is no accident. It is not a process of “natural selection” it is a gift given to mankind from the, “Creator of the Universe”, from God. His will is upon us. Yeild and overcome… You have the power it is within us all… You only need to learn how to facilitate that “universal power”.

It always surpises me when a freind comes to me a asks me if his or her spouse might be “up to something”, only God knows what.
Well the good news is, God is not talking.
I would always respond with the question, “Do you know what the truth is?” Then he or she would look at me as if I had two heads. Yea, I would repeat… “Do you know what the truth is…”
Then I would offer my “spin”, “The truth is you already know the truth.” You always knew the truth and you don’t need me to tell you the truth…” If you think he or she is… “messing around” then she/he is. She might not be actively involved but she is certainly headed in that direction and will be “playing it out” soon.
The truth is we all know the truth. We have always known the truth. We are in fact born with the truth and we venture down that path, the path of truth, as children until we are indoctrinated and coerced into the world of denying the truth… We live in a world of denial. Denying that the truth should even have a voice.
An example… Mr Clinton, “Mister” is a more than dignified term for this amature. Telling the world that he did not have sexual relations with his “White House-AID”… Puleeasee are you kidding? The beauty was the demographics said… say it with a puppy dog face and Joe public will “buy-it”. And they did “lock, stock and barrel”.
The truth is this; we are all accountable for our world… I am as guilty as the greedy S.O.B.S. who savagely polluted and destroyed our very delicate planet. I am guilty because I could not demand that these selfish bastards understand that I am as ”entitled” to this planet as much as they are. Class struggle is a myth well manipulated…
The truth is we, all of us, must stand up for the truth. It is our only hope… Let US stand together…
